Chinese cities less carbon intensive than counterparts

If we exclude the impact of industrial carbon emissions, the average per capita non-industrial emission of Chinese cities is only 37% of the ten world cities. This illustrates that the carbon emissions of Chinese cities are mainly attributable to industrial activities and carbon emissions from citizen’s everyday life are far below the average levels of global countries.

The open access article also notes variation between the highest and lowest emitting Chinese cities by a factor of nearly 7.
